Why Christ: The Advocate
Home > Blog, Church, evangelism > Why Christ: The Advocate
It is a fact – Christians just like non-christians sin. The effect – is a broken heart in which we are breaking apart from what God want’s in our lives and hearts – and… it grieves the Holy Spirit as well.
While I do not believe you can loose your salvation, something scholars have argued over for ages and ages, I do believe a pattern of sin in a Christians life hinders the ability of the Christian to fellowship with God and diminishes their confidence in God’s Word.
Guilt takes place of God’s Glory in their lives – and many times leaves them hopeless. This holiday season as we celebrate the Birth of Jesus it is important for us to realize that Christ is our Advocate (1 John 2). Christ shed his blood on the cross so that we are made whole – Christ Jesus is the single defense for us – and brings us back to fellowship with the Father
In Ephesians (2:8-9) we are told that our relationship to God is through Grace – and our fellowship is only secured in the Grace of the Cross. Moving into the new year – Join me in repenting and confessing our sin. Join me in restroing fellowship with the Father (1John 1:9). Forgiveness is instant – and the cleansing is constant.
Will you begin the point of recovery ? The Christian will never be hopeless – the Advocacy of Christ not only restores us but enables us to recover.
