Porn Is To Him What A Pedicure Is To Her?

I’ve read a lot of stupid things in my life but this has to be one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard. Ian Kerner, Ph.D, said this during an interview for an article on the Today Show blog.

“For many guys porn is basically a 30-second spa day, complete with happy ending: It feels good, relieves stress and functions as a quick little treat — kind of like scarfing down a bag of Gummi Bears in the middle of the day. It doesn’t mean we’re not interested in having “a real meal” with the woman we love, but sometimes we’re in the mood for a snack.”

He went on to describe pornography as a harmless distraction that really doesn’t impact an individual or their relationships with others.

What might your wife say if you approached her and said “honey, this year I’m going to commit adultery just twelve times. Once per month. But I won’t touch anyone, I’m just going to masturbate to pictures of other naked women. But it’s just me and pictures and I won’t actually have sex with another person. Ok?”

In Matthew 5:27 Jesus said: You have heard that it was said ‘You shall not commit adultery’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Ok Pastor Glenn – come on are you really serious here?  YES.

As a child I was forced into some of the most horrific stuff known to man, as was my sister.  It was out of necessity that we did the things we did  – in order to obtain food and shelter… however the road was very slippery and it is only by the Grace of God that I have been able to be rescued.

I hated being touched by strangers who cared nothing about me – being degraded with their sweaty body – their foul odor – I would often vomit and then get high just to be able to stand living with that foster father – or working that street corner…  But this paid more than Mc’Donalds and I was able to keep the roof over my head.

I asked folks what led them to seeing me – and they told me it was because I was available.  Ladies after Ladies after Ladies – some were mothers of the kids I went to school with – some were fathers…

Ted Bundy had the opportunity to speak with reporters, social workers, jail house keepers – but turned to James Dobson in January of 1989.  Ted Bundy described his addiction to pornography as follows “a compulsion, a building up of this destructive energy…”  He continues on “I’ve lived in prison for a long time now, and I’ve met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence. Without exception, every one of them was deeply involved in

pornography – deeply consumed by the addiction.”

Dr. Albert Mohler states “The pervasive plague of pornography represents one of the greatest moral challenges faced by the Christian church in the postmodern age.”

Campus Crusades says “Sexual immorality and pornography have become the defining issues and obstacles to spiritual growth and ministry both on High school and college campus. “  I believe the battle is waged on the church campus as well.
